Ground Rules

No smoking in class. All dogs must be on lead at all times unless under the supervision of an Instructor. If your dogs soils the grounds at any time it is the owners responsibility to clean it up (disposal facilities are available). Abuse of your dog, of any description, will not be tolerated whilst on Club Grounds.

WHEN
We train on Monday nights only, excluding Public Holidays and a 4 week break over the Christmas period starting the 2nd Monday in December. Training recommencing in January.

YOUR DOG
All dogs must be Fully Vaccinated.
You will need to bring with you on your first night a copy of the up to date Vaccination certificates for all dogs and they must be shown when submitting your signed Application for Membership and also when renewing your Membership each June. When mailing Applications or Renewals a photocopy of the vaccination certificate is acceptable.
Vaccination requirements are - Parvo-virus, Hepatitis, Distemper & Kennel Cough (eg. C5)

TRAINING METHODS
Macarthur Dog Training Club, Inc uses motivational training only, ie. we use reward and praise for correct behaviour and do not reward incorrrect behaviour.
Solid leather or webbing collars are acceptable as are head halties,
Body harnesses are not acceptable for training purposes. The use of check chains is not encouraged.
DO NOT FEED YOUR DOG BEFORE TRAINING AND BRING SOME TASTY TREATS.
Food rewards can be any type of sausage, meat (eg. beef, chicken or lamb) cut or broken up into small portions. Dry food eg Kibble not recommended.

EQUIPMENT
4' (1.2 metre) webbing lead
Solid or webbing collar
Bumbag to hold food rewards
Treats your dog really loves
Plastic bag to dispose of any droppings

A range of equipment may be purchased on the grounds at near to cost prices.
