Annual Obediance Trial at Macarthur DTC
On Saturday 17th June 2023 Macarthur Dog Training Club, Inc holds its Annual Obedience Trial. The day starts early for the workers that turn up at 6.00 am to put up rings. A BBQ breakfast is usually organized for the workers and available later for the trailers.
Macarthur runs CCD, Novice, Open, Utility and Utility X rings as well as a Gundog Working Test at its annual trial.
We encourage all our members to look towards trialing and set up trial training rings each week for our advanced trainers for this purpose.

Annual Fisher´s Ghost Parade
For many years Macarthur Dog Training Club has proudly taken part in the Campbelltown Fishers Ghost Festival. The Festival is held annually on the 1st Saturday in November and showcases many of Campbelltowns' Community Organisations, Clubs, Businesses and Religious Groups.
The march travels from the top of Campbelltown, starting at the Old Campbelltown Showground and finishes at Koshigaya Park at the other end.
Many of these groups spend weeks preparing their individual floats and elaborate costumes which are displayed to the delight of thousands of onlooker's young and old alike when they march down Campbelltown's Queen Street.
Our club doesn't have any fancy costumes or elaborate floats, all we have, or need, are enthusiastic members and their dogs.
At the end of the march Macarthur DTC has been known to set up an Information tent and sometimes perform a demonstration of our Clubs Obedience prowess.

Christmas Party December
Macarthur finishes training for the year on the last Monday in November but on the first Monday in December and before we go on our 6 week Xmas break, we hold a “Games Night” dedicated to the Guide Dogs for The Blind. Members that come on this night can participate in organized “games” like the very popular slalom, or the even more popular bobbing for bikkies, musical mats, the egg (golf ball) and spoon race or the fancy dress. Members are asked to make a small gold coin donation to each event they want to have a go in and monies collected on the night are forwarded to the Guide Dogs For The Blind. The club provides a sausage sizzle and soft drinks for the member’s enjoyment and prizes are awarded at the end of the night for the best in each event.
Members that have had success in the trial rings over the previous 12 months are also awarded their title trophies on this night.

Inter-Club Challenge
Each July the winning Club from the previous year hosts the Interclub Challenge.
Macarthur is very proud of the teams we have been able to provide for this event.
The Inter-club "Obedience Trial" is held on a team basis, individual scores are combined to give an over all score for each "team".
Each "team" entry goes through all parts of the relevant class exercises, whether they have zeroed at any stage or not, to achieve a total score for that class. In the end all the clubs team scores are totaled to give each team an over all score. Teams cover CCD, Novice, Open & Utility.
Although we have never "won", an Interclub Challenge, at least one of our teams has placed in a very respectable position at one of these events.
